Computing

Everyone thinks I’m this God of computer science just because I spend a lot of time on one. I’m probably the last guy you’d want to fix your computer. First of all, I know the minimal about hardware. I know what the basic framework of a system is, and that’s it. As far as coding and all that, I couldn’t tell you the first thing about windows scripting or any other language. Let’s just say I know the basics in depth when it comes to computers.

Espresso Every Day

I am one of those guys that love nothing more than starting out every morning with the two stimulants of the working class - a cigarette and a cup of coffee. However, Folger’s medium roast just wasn’t doing it for me before. It was then I started getting interested in espresso machines. Back in the day, they were expensive. That meant only getting espresso-based coffee drinks at a place like Starbucks. Nowadays, it’s getting more and more affordable to make that stuff at home.

Computer Shopping

It can be almost as stressful and futile as searching for car insurance, but sometimes tech geeks and average folks a like get stuck trying to compare the attributes and prices of many different computers. Personally, I don’t need a great deal of power. I only use the computer to make blog posts and send emails. I don’t need a great video card or sound, just enough to get by. That is why I chose an economical Dell model with extra Dell Memory so I could have multiple applications running at once.

Faster Internet

I was having some internet problems recently, namely shoddy service. It would be fine for a while, and all of a sudden, my connection would be lost. It was getting to be quite annoying. The guy who came out to repair the fiber optic cables said the reason my service was so bad of late is because of the splitters. After a hurricane, the cable was installed again very haphazardly. Therefore, the signal had to travel through about 5 rusty splitters before it got to my modem.

Christmas Wishes

I guess it’s almost the time of year where we get our lists ready for Santa - or the wife. If you look at my wish list, listed first is flat panel televisions, then maybe some underwear. It is so vital that I get a beautiful television for the living room. I can’t imagine watching the game on my 27 inch TV any longer! If she gets it for me, it’ll also be in time for the Super Bowl and the college Bowl Games.
