Halo Madness

The world has been firmly entrenched in Halo 3 madness for about 2 days now. The bizz was high, and so far many agree the game did not disappoint. I have heard the solo campaign is pretty disappointing, but like many others I have yet to even try this out. I stay busy online, killing people with the impressive Needler weapon - a weapon that pierces your enemies with embarrassing and painful pink crystals. Only time will tell how much staying power this game has, though.

War Games

I don’t know about you think about these next generation war games, but I think they are all the rage. The people like Jack Thompson that don’t play games go around as opportunists, seizing every chance to get into the spotlight by deriding video games. I am a big fan of war games and don’t think they cause any negative consequences, unless you have mental problems to begin with. The folks who say games and Marilyn Manson are responsible for tragedies like Columbine are so oblivious it is unreal.

Men at Work

Here’s a music video I thought would be appropriate for our blog. It’s a great hit of the eighties called “Down Under” by the band Men at Work. They were popular for a time, and this was probably their number one hit. Did I mention they are from Australia? Enjoy the video.

Machiavelli’s “The Prince”

In the fifteenth century, an Italian philosopher by the name of Niccolo Machiavelli unleashed his seminal work called Il Principe (The Prince) Onto the sitting prince in the divided nation states of Italy. What he wrote seems vicious today, but he came from a time where Italy was divided and needed a strong leader to unite them. Today, The Prince serves as a kind of how-to book for dictators and authoritarian leaders, as it tells leaders it is greater to be feared and loved, but better just feared than just loved.
