Here in Florida, it’s getting about time for the locals to engage in golf once again. For those of us who can afford it, summer is the best part of the golf season. After all the northerners go back home, the ones that rive up the prices, the local people can get in on the golf game again. I recently have gone out and got ready. I bought some new Titleist golf equipment, including balls and a new driver.
As sports fans probably already know, baseball season is coming soon. The last few years have been tough for the game, with accusations of steroids and performance enhancement abound. In my eyes, anything that can be purchased at a health food store should be legal to use. Many of these guys under the knife now are accused of using legal steroids that you can get anywhere, so why are the pundits pursuing it as a crime?
Well, it’s that time of year again. You turn on ESPN and see baseball being broadcasted from Florida and Arizona. The clocks are set to spring forward tomorrow morning. Spring is indeed here, though you wouldn’t know it here in the midwest. We are piled under snow! Nevertheless, it’s time for spring cleaning and home improvements. Top on my list this year is painting the inside and installing some new roller shades.
I am not the most tech savvy person. This may come as a surprise to anyone who knows me. I spend a great deal of time on the computer and using electronics. I have a good working knowledge of many things, but as far as hardware, I’m stuck. I don’t even know how many gigabytes of space I have on my computer! It’s time like this I am grateful for my friend Thomas, the tech guy. Last week he introduced me to HDMI and helped me install some HDMI switches. That guy sure is vital to operations.
There was a time about 15 years ago that weight loss pills were very popular to dieters. I can’t say I ever tried any of these, as most were marketed to women. However, if one even thinks these pills can help them, they probably will. I just can’t see the people who take these pills and believe they will automatically lose weight. You still have to make lifestyle changes no matter what medicine you are on.
Used to be the great American vacation consisted of packing the station wagon and heading towards Orlando, Florida to experience all the magic and wonder of Disney. While this is still a big share of the family vacation market, it is losing ground to other great destinations. I thought about going to the upper peninsula of Michigan and renting Condo Hotels so my family could enjoy the natural splendor from something better than a Best Western on a turnpike.
There has never been as much buzz for a presidential candidate than there is for Republican Ron Paul. His mixture of supporters are diverse and he has raised a ton of money. Everyone from pro-life Christian fundamentalists to those who want to see even more American tax relief support the Texas congressman. Personally, I could never vote for him. He wants to cut taxes and a ton of government programs, leaving many to fend for themselves. I has always thought libertarians like him were just pot smoking GOP members.
When you live in Florida, spring cleaning is not a very good idea. After all, spring is when it’s starting to get boiling hot. After a few hours of work in or outside the house, you are drenched in sweat and ready to sleep for twenty hours. That is why I have adopted winter cleaning. I clean up and make general improvements on the house. This year I am going to install some bathroom vanities!
I recently entered a cross dressing contest for charity. There was a 50/50 drawing and all profits went towards helping veterans of Iraq readjust to life stateside after long deployments. I don’t know whose idea it was to get me dressed up, but by all accounts I would have been a beautiful woman, if not for the Adam’s apple and five o’clock shadow. I am still a little embarrassed I had to go out and get one of those sexy corsets.
