Homeland Security
How many of us have been on an airplane since September 11th? The rules have changed quite a bit, and they continue to change up to this day. The first time I flew post-9/11 was out of West Virginia. The rules were quite strict - no unattended luggage, limited carry ons and plenty of beefed up security. They even prohibited liquids of all kinds. Recently, they have relaxed some of these restrictions. Liquids bought past security are now available to take on board. Shoes are now routinely scanned, but the general level of security is still much higher than before 2001. Read up on the rules if you plan to travel in the air.
