Crazy Field Goal

Last week, Phil Dawson faced a 52 yard field goal, which tested his limited range as a kicker. His Browns needed it to tie and go into overtime. With a career long of 52 yards, it was possible but not probable. Dawson drilled the kick solidly and straight, but it fell just short as time expired. The next week, he is faced with the same scenario: 51 yarder to tie the game. He gives it everything he has, and this time it just barely eeks by the upright. He later won the game in overtime.

Charity Event

I recently entered a cross dressing contest for charity. There was a 50/50 drawing and all profits went towards helping veterans of Iraq readjust to life stateside after long deployments. I don’t know whose idea it was to get me dressed up, but by all accounts I would have been a beautiful woman, if not for the Adam’s apple and five o’clock shadow. I am still a little embarrassed I had to go out and get one of those sexy corsets.

Dream Weddings

There is no doubt about it - the Wedding has always been a female institution. You always hear about couples having beach weddings in exotic locales, but who has ever heard of getting married at a baseball field? I actually know a guy who was indeed married at a minor league stadium, as he said baseball was his first love and his wife would be his last. How romantic and beautiful is that? It is sweet enough to induce diabetes.

Fall Cleaning

Many of you are familiar with the term Spring Cleaning, but when you live in Florida, the only time of year it is tolerable to do much work is right around now, somewhere between fall and winter. This year, I am going to replace some shingles on the roof that blew away during last year’s hurricane season. I am also going to install some new plumbing fixtures in the bathroom to enhance the drainage, which has become an issue lately. I think hair clogs are to blame.

Christmas Wishes

I guess it’s almost the time of year where we get our lists ready for Santa - or the wife. If you look at my wish list, listed first is flat panel televisions, then maybe some underwear. It is so vital that I get a beautiful television for the living room. I can’t imagine watching the game on my 27 inch TV any longer! If she gets it for me, it’ll also be in time for the Super Bowl and the college Bowl Games.

Safety Net

If you are the man of the household (if you are on this site, you probably are) then you have an obligation to protect your family if something should happen. That is why it is easy as ever to find a good life insurance quote. That is the beauty of living i a free market. By having many choices, coverage becomes increasingly more affordable. Simply do the research and get the right protection package for you and your needs. If something should happen, you’ll be glad the safety net was in place.

Assisted Living

Back in the old days, taking care of an elderly parent or relative meant having to send them to a nursing home. We sure have come a long way from those days! Now, by utilizing a new assisted living software, you can keep an eye on your loved one with a computer. Simply hook them via USB to the system. Using electronic stimulation, the software will keep the elder company when you can’t be there.

Wrench on Car

After a long week of attaching door handles, it is nice to go home and enjoy a frosty one while wrenching on the car. I recently found an old Chrysler 300 in the woods. The body was in great condition, but as you’d figure with an abandoned car, the engine was beyond repair. It has now become my pet project I work on every weekend. One day, with the help of a place to get a certain Chrysler 300 accessory, I will have this car running as good as new.

Gemstones

I was looking for the perfect gift for my girlfriend the other day. I know she likes wearing jewelry, so I was checking out some rings. I may not buy it too often, because it’s so expensive! Then, I found an alternative that would allow me to get her a ring she’d like without breaking the bank. I looked at the gemstone jewelry and got her a ring with her September birthstone. I hope she likes it, as I will give it to her for Christmas.
