Stolen Bases

I can’t believe all the bases the Devil Rays have stolen thanks to Carl Crawford. This guy has all the tools you’d want from a baseball player. Of course he’s got speed, which is just natural talent. He is now starting to develop into an effective hitter, as well. He has the ability to knock it out of the park, as well as display stellar defense. There is no one player you’d rather have on your fantasy - or real roster.

Warehouse Skateboards

The sport of skateboarding has come a long way since I was a kid. I remember having a flat piece of wood with wheels on that I rode around the neighborhood with. Now, it isn’t just a novelty toy, but a way of life almost. It is a great way to stay in shape, as it burns many calories. Plus, look at all the cool things you can do with a board? If you are an avid skateboarder or just starting out, you can find everything you need at Warehouse Skateboards without breaking the bank! They have all the popular brands, like stuff from Zoo York, Zero, Independent, element skateboards and more. No matter what your brand preference, it is in stock here. Not only does Warehouse have complete boards, they also have training accessories, parts, DVDs, clothing, and more! No matter what your skateboarding needs, you will find it at Warehouse Skateboards.

October Time

October is closer on the horizon than you might think, which can mean only one thing: Playoff Baseball! If you have seen the commercials featuring comedian Dane Cook, you realize just how seriously some people take this time of year. After all, it’s where the stars come out to shine. Legends have been made in broken in October baseball. Take, for example, Bucky Dent’s shot to put away the Red Sox or Kirk Gibson’s huge walk-off shot against Dennis Eckersley in the 1988 World Series. Be sure and catch all the action this fall!

Memory Walk

There is nothing quite as sad than seeing someone suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease. It isn’t just a terminal illness that deprives the sufferer of their life, it also gradually deteriorates their thoughts and memories. Recently, famous sufferers like the former President Ronald Reagan and actor Charlton Heston have brought a little attention to the situation, but family members of sufferers have known about the devastating effects of this disease. I lost an aunt to this terrible condition. She went from a lively woman who loved her independence and playing cards to being bed-ridden and dependent on others to take care of her most basic needs.

Luckily, there is something concerned citizens can do to help promote research, support, and help to sufferers and family members afflicted by Alzheimer’s Disease, and it’s the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk. Since 1989, volunteers have been giving their time and walking all over America to raise awareness and funds for this great cause. Over $200 million has been raised so far! Simply type in your ZIP code and find a walk near you! I have three walks within 50 miles of where I am, so it will be easy to jump on board and lend a hand. What’s really needed are Team Captains who will be in charge of organizing a group of walkers. Don’t hesitate to sign up, as you will need some time to get everything straight! No matter where you are in America, there will be an Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk event near you. This is the perfect opportunity to raise money for a great cause and raise awareness about a terrible disease! Though I have pictures, I can always remember my Aunt Bette the was she was through the Memory Walk!

Sports Brawls

Here is a cool video about the uglier side of sports. Or maybe it’s the more entertaining side of sports, depending on how you look at it. I bet if you look on YouTube, you can find the rest of this hilarious and somewhat tragic compilation.
